May Day Installment of Space Station:
Live Hour-Long Performance by Shane Morris
This will essentially be some material that may or may not come out next weekend during my set at City Skies 2009 Electronic Music Festival in Decatur, GA.
I will be playing a duo set with Kevin Spears at City Skies. We have not rehearsed or discussed any material for our set. We plan to improvise a lot and morph around with each others compositions. Should be loads of fun! _________________ ElectroCasa |

I just recently discovered that Soma FM has a channel named "Space Station". Because of this, I have decided to rename my program. Keeping with the space theme, i've opted for the name, "Space Port Zero Nine".
Aside from the name change, all other activities will continue the same. Please dock your interplantery selves at the new Space Port Zero Nine broadcast this Friday! _________________ ElectroCasa |

FRIDAY MAY 15TH INSTALLMENT:
Live One Hour Improvisational Performance with Shane Morris
Inspired by my electro-percussive set with Kevin Spears, at City Skies last weekend, I've decided to dedicate this week's live excursion to the realm of percussion.
I will utilize acoustic, electro-acoustic, and electronic percussion instruments to create some other-worldly soundscapes this week.
Most notably, I will be featuring an electro-acoustic set-up of the vibraphone utilizing several different efx. I will also feature numerous African, Cuban, and Brazilian instruments, wine glasses, gongs, percussion-triggered synth sounds, and an assortment of found sounds.
This will not be your standard percussive fanfare. I plan to use these instruments in an atypical fashion, with efx and looping.
Hope you can make it! _________________ ElectroCasa Last edited by shanemorris on Thu May 14, 2009 11:57 am; edited 1 time in total |

Friday May 29th Broadcast
I will be playing my performance from the recent City Skies Festival in Decatur, GA. This is a duo set with kalimba player, Kevin Spears and myself, on synths and percussion.
Afterwards, I will do a live improvised performance of undetermined length to celebrate my Birthday and the rearrangement of my studio!
The theme for my improvisation will be "Gemini The Twins" _________________ ElectroCasa |

I had great fun doing this last night, was a bit nervous about talking on air, and worried about doing an hour long set, but it all seemed to work out OK
it didn't help that I was still frantically re-wiring the studio after a major re-shuffle and only found my mic lead with about 1/2 an hour to spare
Thanks to everyone who listened in and especially to those in the chat room
and here's the recording of the show
Modulator_ESP_Space_Port_Zero_Nine_130609
and next week Mark Mahoney will be doing the show _________________ Jez

Thanks Jez, it was a pleasure to listen!
edit : when you'd want so you could upload your performance here as an attachment, I just gave you some room for that. Performances uploaded here will show up in the online music overviews on the forum (like this one, for instance) and can be scheduled for re-streaming from the archives. _________________ Jan
