Good shots, Seraph.
What's your interest in the Clavioline? I just purchased one (lappeared to be in far better shape than the ones pictured on the Clavioline site) that the seller claims was in working order and I found out the hard way that it's not. I'm desperately searching for someone who knows about them and the Clavioline.com site, although in existence, seems to have no one tending it, no one responding to e-mails, nothing.
Do you know of anyone who services them, fiddles with them, can guide me is testing mine further, etc.?

I am very sorry but I can't help you. I just wrote this post because I had found out Italian composer Giacinto Scelsi had one of those Claviolines. _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Hi. Just located messages. If still of interest I have a page on my web site with loads of info on clavioline. I have an engineer but at the moment we have quite a few of our own to overhaul. About to release an A4 booklet "An Introduction To The Clavioline" All details on my music web site www.chestnutbankproductions.co.uk _________________ RELIVE THE TELSTAR ERA. |

I had fun browsing your website. Telstar by the Tornados was one of the 1st 45s I ever bought--might have been the first, I can't remember all the details that far back! (Yes, way back in '62 or whenever it came out.) I might even have it some place. Maybe I should look for it and scan it. (It had a white label with blue text.)I loved it so much it was one of the few covers I did on my Casio CZ-5000 when I first got it. (Dominique and Frere Jaques were the other covers I did--plus original music.) Don't know anything about Claviolines, but when I saw your name and avatar, I had to check out your site.

Glad you enjoyed the site. The popular make of clavioline in the US was the Gibson but over here, the Selmer was the one. The lead on Telstar was treble tracked so it gave the clavioline a richer sound. I'm just starting a third instrumental album and the clavioline will be featured on it. Keep enjoying your music. _________________ RELIVE THE TELSTAR ERA. |

Started playing clavioline around 1967. Played Telstar, etc. Created a page on my web site full of info on the clavioline. I still have around five waiting to be overhauled. Capasitors and valves are still available but not many of the other components. I have a guy repair mine but at the moment we have a back log. Best to buy one that has been checked over. www.chestnutbankproductions.co.uk This is not a business web site, just one I created for my instrumental music. I have managed to get Service Manuals for the Selmer Claviolines and I have published a 28 page booklet containing loads of info. _________________ RELIVE THE TELSTAR ERA. |
