The Run/Stop button on the G2 is a real headache for me. because it's a soft button instead of dedicated, I have to switch to that page when starting the sequencer, and then switch to the other pages to play parameters. It has caused some embarrasing moments...

I know the G2's master clock can be started and stopped by sending the proper CC's through MIDI. It would be great to have a simple footswitch that could send those CCs, but I cannot for the life of me find one. A lot of things come close - the MIDI Solutions footswitch controller in particular - but I cannot find anything that really works.

Is there a programmable MIDI footswitch out there, preferably with one button? I would be happy with a DIY solution if it is something I can make roadworthy, but that seems unlikely.

Hi!

I found few solutions like this (Start and Stop):
https://www.moltenvoltage.com/products/ONE_TRICK_PONY_by_Molten_Voltage_-_Digitech_Whammy_and_Line_6_Controller.html
and
https://www.soundonsound.com/forum/topic-59266.html&p=533141

But they are a bit expensive (around $100 US). For this price I think (if you have time) you can build or find a DIY solution with raspberry or arduino.

Thank you, those things look like exactly what I'm looking for. The one-trick Pony, custom program, would be perfect, and that guy is in my neck of the woods. The Arduino approach is appealing, but by the time I did it all it would cost me a lot more than $100, considering time.

The Molten Voltage pedal works! Very simple, not too expensive, nails it. Everything is hard-coded so I can't change my G2X global channel, but who cares? I wish I'd had this ten years ago. Thanks EW.
