I have noticed that a lot of us seem to be using the same equipment - binary zone, baby 10, Klee... and the results are all so different. It's very reassuring to see that this isn't a one trick pony (especially after all the work put into building it)! Thanks Scott and all the others who put untold and undocumented hours into designing, distributing, assembling kits and guiding home all of these Klee bits for us to then spend untold hours building, debugging and most importantly, playing.
Glad you all liked my set. More to come. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Hey Mono-poly,
I managed to miss your posts with the latest three MP3s. I've been listening to them this afternoon at work. Great stuff! They lend a certain urgency to my daily bug searches.
Yeah - E-Rex, I really like listening to all of this stuff - everyone seems to have found their own different groove with the Klee.
We had quite some fun on the chat tonight when Paul (EdsonRex) was test driving his new studio setup ... he played for an almost unbelievable 5 hours for the people that were lucky enough to be in the chat room, and it was really really great fun!
Unfortunately everyone forgot to record ... except for the very last bit ... that Paul asked me to post here.
A klee is involved of course as well as some other stuff that I better let to Paul to explain.
Oh it's in mono and 24 kbps, a service to the dial up listeners.
Anyway, hope you'll have some fun listening too!
And thank you Paul, and all in the chat, for the great evening!

Totally spur of the moment. I remembered to start NiceChat with a low bandwidth stream (from the house) but I didn't remember to record, although 4:45 would have been hard to edit...
It evolved constantly, as you might hear. It's low bandwidth so both my upload and the downloads were stutter free.
Equipment was the Klee, baby 10, the M5N and some of the other modular kit (my new VCO I built this weekend which was the reason for starting this marathon). It was more practice for the Klee than anything but it was a lot of fun to do.
It makes me think we can do streaming if we want to, though.

we recently have had a discussion about stereo in youtube. if you choose the "play in higher quality"-option on this video it will be in stereo. i uploaded a divX avi video wth mpeg layer3 audio. adding the &fmt=18 parameter into the embedding link does not work for IE7, though. therefor i just post the link.
however, the actual video quality is horrible, as is the audio. sounds somewhat distorted. i will try another encoder soon.

OK - I'm going to have to build another Klee. Chaining two of them is really very cool. I chained Photon's and my Klee in a loop and immediately had to reach for the video camera. The patterns on them are just what were there when I hooked them together. This is a very simple application of chaining - there are a zillion things I can think of doing with two Klee's that I couldn't do with one......

That's pretty good, Scott. I definitely think the Klee works better along with additional outboard helpers. A whole nuther Klee, though... _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Two Klee machines - wow, that must be F.U.N.!
I've shamefully not been using my Klee too much recently (boo hiss) because I've been working with shallow modules (depth not sound!) and the rack was hard to fit in... But I dug it out at the weekend and had a freaking ball. So much fun! I need to get things sorted back to being able to use this regularly.
Ok - the klee is indeed involved in this one. It's not really doing much though, except squirting out 3 static sets of notes. However, it did fill a role that nothing else I have could do, so that's not too shabby.
Fairly annoying "music", at least it's short:
full description (sort of) of what's going on if you click through to the youtube page.
Oh, and I noticed there's no "HQ" button on the embedded version here (at least there wasn't in the preview -?)- don't know why that is, but there's not really any difference if you hop over to the youtube page and try it. It seems to be coming out in stereo either way you play it.
I don't think it is annoying music. I clicked through and listened to some of your music. Good stuff...
This is just me, but I prefer to listen and not look at the videos. That said, your modular is really beautiful. _________________ --Howard
my music and other stuff
no vid, just a good old mp3 (3MB).
it is not a song yet, just the klee2 in slow motion, two VCOs, two VCFs. i added a not synchronized noise, a bass and a drum track.
again, no arrangement, actually - rough and dirty, 1st idea... but i liked the slow klee so much i had to show up with it.
