Some people coming over from Europe are bring equipment. Their stuff works on 220 V, of course. Does anyone have a 120 V to 220 V step up transformer we might borrow?

Hi Mosc, i was planning to mail you this in private. But now you bring this up, i had a question. I think i can bring down the voltage for the G2, but for my laptop is a different matter. So i would be grateful if someone has a transformer. I'm thinking loud now. Say, if a few europeans have a gig or seminar/exposition at the same time, we need more transformers. So, is it possibly to rent this stuff or maybe some willing shopkeeper can sponsor this for this event. And get them back afterwards of coarse:)

As far as I know, virtually all laptops made in the last 10 years have auto sensing power supplies and will work anywhere. Check your power supply.

Yes, the G2 has an internal switch, which is an improvement over the G1.

I'm going to see Chuck Van Zyl on Saturday and I'll ask him what he does for this at the Gatherings.

It is not unusual that big US universities have these.. and large ones too. And if all the stage gear is running at 220 you will need some large stepup transformers.
