im looking for an audio-in patch that would make the vox output sound like the user was talking into a CB radio.
does anyone have any suggestions?
thanks

hmm.. how about high pass filter (no res), into mild bit reduction and some mild clipping, with some high freq amp modulation to emulate the poor tuning? Might want to add some noise into the mix, though the bit reduction would probably give you some of that anyway.

You may also want to look thru the NM1 archives for ideas. I know there are a lot of audio-in patches, nit sure about the CB/AM radio sound though.

While the patches are not 1-1 compatible, you can try running them thru the NM1-G2 converter, then tweaking them by hand, or for smaller patches, just use them as a visual example and hand-wire the G2 patch from that.

just a quicky made with the G2demo, so replace the osc and lfo in upper section with an audio-in module. hope it is noizy and crackly enough for you.

A compressor going into a band pass filter and distortion will get you most of the way. I'm not so sure about bit reduction, since I don't think of CB radio as having a digital quality, though it would be appropriate if you wanted to simulate a cellphone.

you might also be intersted in this NM G1 article from Rob Hordijk (last section) about using audio inputs to modulate an oscillator: http://www.clavia.se/nordmodular/Modularzone/Softsync.html
