I currently have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, which has two inputs. Problem being, if I just have a cable from the modular to the first input, the computer perceives it as being a Left signal, with Right being silent.

This hasn't been a problem up till now, because Audacity has a mono-stereo setting I can use to monkey around with this.

More of a problem with BUTT, though. I could just use a Y splitter to have the modular going into both the first and second inputs on the Focusrite, but I'd like to have the option of using the second input for a microphone.

Are there any pieces of software that can take the two Focusrite inputs, present me with a mixer-type interface, and output something to BUTT that it would be happy with?

You'd need some virtual audio cable thingie, like VAC for Windows, or SoundFlower for Mac, or I guess Jack for Linux. There may be some more stuff out there, or the stuff I mentioned may be outdated. Theere used to be no free software like that for Windows.

Such tools are like virtual audio drivers, what you send to their outs they can internally route to their inputs, to be picked up by another audio program. So they will enable you to pick up external audio with a program that processes it, routes it to the virtual cable to be picked up by a next program.

You still might need some program doing the one channel to two channel mono conversion for you, or the virtual device may be able to do such things itself - I do not really know,

Anyway, that would be the direction to look into.

If you happen to have Max you may already have all the tools you need.
